Community Development Programs |
Community Action Team's Community Investment Department assists low and moderate income tenants and homeowners through its Housing Programs. Assistance is available to low and moderate income communities through Community Action Team's Community Development program. Community Investment and its partners in Northwest Oregon work to create and sustain institutions and facilities that help individuals and families achieve self-sufficiency. In the past, these efforts have included: community studies, affordable housing development and rehabilitation, senior and Head Start center development, public infrastructure and assistance to micro-enterprises.
Community Action Team's Community Investment Department and three other regional nonprofits have formed the Northwest Oregon Community Develop- ment Collaborative to help sustain the local capacity to carry out community development projects in our region. The region, Clatsop, Columbia, Tillamook and Western Washington counties, is characteristically rural with an economic mix of natural resource industries, tourism, long distance commuters and struggling small businesses. These four community-based partners are committed to bringing opportunity in the form of housing, services and employment to children, adults and seniors living in the region.
