What your donation will do …

When you donate money to Community Action Team, you’re helping in many ways.  Often times the dollar you contribute has a geometric affect… leveraged with other sources of funding, cash donations go a long way.

EXAMPLES OF DIRECT DOLLAR DONATIONS:

Emergency Energy Assistance:

$1       Will buy a family one day of electric service
$10     Will buy a family 3 bags of wood pellets, enough to heat their home for an   average of 45 days.
$25     Will buy a family 10 gallons of propane, enough to heat their     home/cook/heat water for an average 21 days.
$50     Will buy a family half a month of average use with NW Natural Gas
$75     Will buy a family sixty days of water usage
$100 Will buy a family a cord of wood, enough to heat their home for 60 days in winter.
$150 Will buy a family 60 gallons of oil, an average monthly usage.

Your donation, when matched with other federal, state and local sources, actually equates to around $5.  Your $50 donation makes a $250 difference.

Each dollar which a Veteran receives in benefits turns into approximately $6 in the community, through the economic effect of bringing that income into their household.  The average recovery for our Veteran’s has been $22,000, with many significantly more, depending on the disability benefits.  Over $750,000 in cash has been recovered for our county’s Veterans in the past 3 years.
