Self Help Building Program
Nine units of self-help housing in Seaside, OR. The program is intended to help families with low to moderate incomes build their own homes by working cooperatively with other families. All homes are built by the whole group. We will teach you everything you need to know and supervise your work during construction. Eligible participants will receive a mortgage loan through USDA, RD, for which monthly payments are based on household income.
As part of this program the ABC’s of Homebuying class will be offered. This class teaches the homebuyer the process of homebuying, financial and credit preparation, the loan and closing process, and protecting your investment. This class is open to the public and is a good opportunity for all prospective homebuyers to obtain education and the skills to make wise financial decisions when considering buying a home. The class costs $25.00 for singles and $30.00 for couples.
